We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Maintenance Manager to support the delivery of exceptional engineering and maintenance services. All work will be carried out in one of our static sites, providing consistency, stability, and a strong sense of ownership of the environment you maintain.
You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure all planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered to the highest standards while maintaining full compliance with Health & Safety and legislative requirements.

This position includes scheduled weekend working and participation in duty‑management responsibilities (with days off in lieu provided).

Deputise for the Maintenance Manager when required.
Support the delivery of high‑quality maintenance services across the site.
Diagnose, fault‑find, and repair mechanical and electrical issues independently.
Undertake and oversee planned and reactive maintenance tasks in line with safety policies and compliance standards.
Perform planned preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair work.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, suppliers, and contractors.
Work collaboratively with the on‑site coordinator to maintain an effective support function.
Organise your workload efficiently, working both independently and within a team.
Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and correct PPE standards.
Complete accurate reporting and ensure all tasks are logged via on‑site systems.
Keep relevant teams informed of maintenance activities throughout the week.

Competencies & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of M&E building services.
Understanding of HVAC systems including A/C, boilers, controls, and ventilation.
Excellent understanding of Legionella compliance.
Good grasp of Health & Safety (IOSH).
Confident communicator with strong relationship‑building skills.
Team‑focused, flexible, and trustworthy with confidential information.
Solutions‑driven mindset with awareness of budget controls.
Qualifications
Industry‑recognised electrical certification.
Strong mechanical knowledge and practical experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
Personal Qualities & Skills
Full UK driving licence.
Strong communication and time‑management skills.
Highly organised with excellent interpersonal abilities.
Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently or within a team.
Capable of accurately assessing breakdowns and identifying next steps.
